I have found the Way to His Banquet hall

Image
But he that eateth of my body, and drinketh of my blood, to him is life eternal; and I will raise him up at the last day. ~ John 6: 54 ( from the Aramaic Peshitta translation ) Dear beloved friends and family, What a gift it is to awake ... and go to bed with the word of God. To arise feasting upon a brunch of ripe strawberries and succulent cream,  plump with the elixir of truth. And as the day withdraws, being lulled to slumber by the panacea of His voice.  Streams of nectar that pour through body, mind and soul, clearing me of any ails. I am finally able to feast on you Lord, I have found the Way to your banquet hall. I have been quenched ...by brilliantly cool refreshment , now warmed within upon it's healing . What exotic meal is this that is able to affect this body temple , resurrect the mind and restore hope !  I lay my hands open for more of his delicacies, given to us freely , a robust recipe of words and thoughts from the mind of Y...

The Tree of Knowledge - as described in the Book of Enoch

Image
From the extra-biblical text  The Book of Enoch ( formerly part of the canon )  Chapter 31 1 After these things,  surveying the entrances of the north,  above the mountains,  I perceived seven mountains  replete with pure nard, odoriferous trees, cinnamon and papyrus. 2 From there I passed on above the summits of those mountains to some distance eastwards, and went over the Erythraean sea. (37) (37) Erythraean sea. The Red Sea. And when I was advanced far beyond it,  I passed along above the angel Zateel ,  and arrived at the garden of righteousness.  In this garden I beheld, among other trees, some which were numerous and large, and which flourished there. 3 Their fragrance was agreeable and powerful, and their appearance both varied and elegant.  The tree of knowledge also was there, of which if any one eats, he becomes endowed with great wisdom. 4 It was like a species of the...

Spiritual Gluttony - as described by St. John of the Cross

Image
St. John of the Cross describes Spiritual Gluttony.  In essence it is the striving for pleasure and the highs of sensory oriented spiritual experiences. It is a deviation in the walk in Christ that is noticed in most beginners. A distraction. Above all things, seek Wisdom ... "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. "  ~ Proverbs 4:7 Love, Sarah Ahava Fischer  THE DARK NIGHT  written by St. John of the Cross  - Chapter 6.  [The imperfections of spiritual gluttony.] 1. A great deal can be said on spiritual gluttony, the fourth vice. There are hardly any persons among these beginners, no matter how excellent their conduct, who do not fall into some of the many imperfections of this vice.   These imperfections arise because of the delight beginners find in their spiritual exe...

St. Augustine of Hippo

Image
" St. Augustine of Hippo converted from a former life of loose living, which included parties, entertainment, and worldly ambitions.  His complete turnaround and conversion has been an inspiration to many who struggle with a particular vice or habit they long to break. This famous son of St. Monica was born in Africa and spent many years of his life in wicked living and in false beliefs. Though he was one of the most intelligent men who ever lived and though he had been broug ht up a Christian, his sins of impurity and his pride darkened his mind so much, that he could not see or understand the Divine Truth anymore. Through the prayers of his holy mother and the marvelous preaching of St. Ambrose, Augustine finally became convinced that Christianity was the one true religion. Yet he did not become a Christian then, because he thought he could never live a pure life. One day, however, he heard about two men who had suddenly been converted on reading the life ...

The Voice of Truth

Image
The quiet voice of Truth does not require hype, build-up or promotion, Seekers of Truth, keep the eyes of your flesh veiled ... Pause, Let the parade of excitement pass you by ... Let silence become your shroud and heed His gentle whispers. His unchanging voice heard by those He calls friends ... Love, Sarah Ahava Fischer ' Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! ' ~ Psalm 141:3 ' Be Still .... and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.' ~ Psalms 46:10

Women pursue all things Divine ... but let man pursue you !

Image
Dearest friends & family, I feel led to share this message to my sisters in Christ who are hurting in the arena of love ...  This past week in my travels to a Christian retreat , I have been meeting several beautiful women in the body of Christ who have a deep desire to be with a loved one or to be married. I say this with the greatest love, although your desires may be intense, remember the ways of Heaven. There is a divine order in all things and this includes the evolving relationship between a man and woman. The Word of God says " He who finds a wife finds a good thing" ~ Proverbs 18:22 It is the man who finds her ... not the woman who finds the man. The initial pursuit lies on the part of the man. I strongly believe that for any long term relationship to have a solid foundation, it has to begin with the man finding and pursuing the woman. It is the man who first seeks you out. It is the man who "moves mountains" to reach you. ...

My Ponderings this morning ...

Image
The Word of God is so penetrating and ALIVE, at times, it makes my heart appear to STOP ... yet at other times it quickens it to pound through my chest like that of a vulnerable rabbit ... I wonder how much more can I bear at the same time I crave for more with what can only be described as delightful trepidation! A great fear of the Lord has been coming on me of late as I listen to His Word ... they are not just words anymore, they breathe and dance and LIVE!!!! ... They are the EXACTING tools laced with precision borne of our great and Hidden architect... The Bible now is an entirely different experience, I cherish the word ... I hunger for it ... I only want His Voice ... and I have become so sensitive to every other voice attempting to make itself heard ... any inflection in a voice that is ever so slightly off, suddenly causes me great pain ... It truly is the Narrow road and few will find it ... Lord help me always stay on that narrow road ... hidden in You ....

He who dwells in the secret place dwells in EPIKAIZO

Image
This is a great article written by Peter Tan. petertan.net  EPIKAIZO – THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY  Luke 1:26-38 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” However, when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel,...

Never forgetting you dear Jerusalem, placing you in our hearts as we commune with Him ....

Never forgetting you dear Jerusalem, placing you in our hearts as we commune with Him .... "By the rivers of Babylon...we wept, when we remembered Zion...If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy." (From Psalm 137) A good article & reminder - " Medieval maps show Jerusalem as the center of the universe, calling it Umbilicus Mundi (Navel of the World). There is a world map with Jerusalem at its center attached to an ancient Latin manuscript of the Book of Psalms (c. 1250). The map illustrates Psalm 74:12, "For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth [ours].  We ought to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and our motivation must come from Scripture as we examine God's relationship to Israel. In Luke 19:41, we see that Jesus Himself wept over the city. In addition, we s...
