Bathing in His Living Waters is like plunging into hot and cold pools !
Bathing in His Living Waters to me ... is like plunging into hot and cold pools of water.
The Old Testament is the deep, hot pool STEAMING with it's intensity.
The Holiness of the Lord, the severity of His Might when tested, the Impeccable standards He displays that we must rise to seem to scathe our bodies with an overwhelming heat.
And yet it is a compelling experience that draws us in!
We rise up and out of these blazing waters and run DIVING into the cool waters of the next pool.
The cool waters of His Grace abound in the New Testament. Great relief and gratitude is found here. Praise the Lord for His Mercy and Grace that lovingly soothes our scorching skin. His Grace so Abundant, it is the loving salve poured generously upon us, forgiving all while giving all.
Would one experience be complete with the other ?
NO it is not.
We need to enter all the chambers of His Heart. Receiving Him in His entirety. His intense tidal wave of heat and His loving cool waters.
They are ALL His Precious Living Waters.
For if we choose only the HEAT, we will burn like raging, unceasing Fires that can do more damage than good.
And if the choice is made to only plunge into His Cool Grace, rejecting His Fiery pool that is readily available ... then we lose the knowledge of the entirety of His Holiness.
Please know I am not referring to those living in countries where there is limited access to Holy Scriptures. In this case, you devour any piece of His Glory that comes into your person and what comes to you will be Glorious and Perfect.
Instead, I bring your attention to the believer who has access to the entirety of the Bible ... yet chooses only part of it.
There are believers who choose to only study and regard the New Testament.
They become like the salt that has lost it's saltiness .... A salt does not bite because it becomes insentient ... and has weakened down it's ability to purify.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. ~ Matthew 5:13
Jesus is THE WORD. The Word is JESUS.
He comes in the VOLUME of the book, the Holy Scriptures that were BREATHED by the Lord.
WOW ! How AWESOME is that.
Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
~ Psalm 40:7
Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
~ Hebrews 10:7
The New Testament offers many references to the Old Testament.
There are said to be 295 citations in the New that bring us back to the Old.
For what occurred in the past and that which transpired in the New are intrinsically tied. One volume is not complete without the other.
Those with the eyes to see, WITNESS THAT THEY ARE ONE.
Feast on Him ENTIRELY.
Let your Salt remain Salty. A Salt that purifies and cleanses.
Yes this salt when it comes upon an open wound it may STING.
I am DIVING into BOTH pools ! HOT AND COLD, I will take ALL OF HIM :)
I LOVE YOU EL SHADDAI !!!!
Love,
Ahava Sarah Fischer
